He led them to the table where the electrodes were attached. She was wearing a lab coat over a pink blouse and a pair of jeans. She had long red hair, green eyes, and freckles across her cheeks and nose. The other person was a woman in her early twenties. He was wearing a lab coat over a white shirt and black pants. He had short brown hair, blue eyes, and a strong jawline. "Let's go." He led her through the door and into the room where the experiment was taking place. The room was large and had several tables set up. "Ready?" She nodded and smiled back at him. When they entered the room, he turned to her and smiled. The elevator doors opened, and they walked down the hall to the lab. "Good." He kissed her again and pressed the button for the fourth floor. "Are you sure you want to do this?" He whispered against her lips. She returned the kiss, and wrapped her arms around his neck. As the doors closed, he pulled her close to him and kissed her. When they got to the elevator, he pushed the button for the fourth floor. "We need to get started." He led her out of the room and down the hallway to the elevator. He looked so handsome and she smiled at him. She opened her eyes and saw him standing there. "Good night, baby." She yawned and closed her eyes. She woke up when she heard the door open. "Now get some sleep." He leaned down and kissed her forehead. There had been no serious side effects from any of the previous tests. However with it only in its experimental phase they were of course nervous. "I won't let anything happen to you." They were about to go into an experimental gender transformation project that was testing a far easier way for people to swap their genders. "Don't be scared, sweetie." His hand tightened around hers. I'm just scared." She looked down at her hands, they were shaking. He reached over and took them into his own. "I'll take care of you." She smiled softly at him. "You're going to be okay." His voice was soft, but she heard it clearly. He felt it in his bones, and he knew that soon, he would feel it in his heart. It was the beginning of how things were going to change.
